Ballybunion Bar and Grille
About This Spot
Stepping into Ballybunion Bar and Grille feels like discovering a quietly comforting corner just off the beaten path. Nestled inside the Holiday Inn on Regional Street, its pace is unhurried and welcoming, a blend of familiar warmth with a hint of local charm. Whether you're settling in after a day's travel or meeting friends for a casual drink, the atmosphere invites you to linger, share simple moments, and savor balanced flavors.
The room hums gently with easy conversation and the occasional clink of glasses, softened by attentive, friendly staff who seem to genuinely enjoy making each visit pleasant. It’s the kind of place where the background, from a thoughtfully turned-down TV to smiles at the bar, doesn’t distract but rather complements the relaxed vibe.
Inside this approachable bar and grill, comfort food finds a thoughtful expression. There’s an inviting sense in the kitchen’s quiet confidence — from generously stuffed french toast that feels like a gentle morning embrace to crisp waffles that carry a nostalgic touch. That satisfying bite of a well-crafted sandwich or the tang of a bright key lime pie all melt into moments that feel like they belong to your own collection of simple pleasures, rather than just part of a hotel menu.
What makes Ballybunion stand apart is its sense of intimacy within a larger space, where staff members are remembered by name and the pace slows to fit the mood you bring with you. It’s not about rushing through a meal but savoring small details — the perfect pour of beer, the kindness in service, the way a pot roast can evoke memories of family dinners long past.
For those passing through Dublin or locals looking for a dependable spot, Ballybunion Bar and Grille offers a quiet, unpretentious refuge where food and human connection blend gently into a welcome pause in the day.

This is a hidden treasure inside the Holiday Inn. Burger was the best hotel burger I think i have ever had and ice cold beer. The hotel should help advertise this better because it's delicious. Carla provided excellent service.

Although they were unable to seat indoors and were operating with only half their menu (this the four stars), the food we were able to order (club sandwich, Southwest chicken sandwich and fries) were well above average in quality and served with apologetic smiles. I would love to eat here again when this second wave of the pandemic is over. I've eaten at many hotel restaurants over the past 40 years and for price and quality, this one is near the top of my list. I hope they keep up the good work and wish them well.

Good service in the buffet, very attentive staff. Room service was fast and the pot roast tasted just like mom used to make. Only con is the price, but not bad for a hotel restaurant.

I got a omelette with veggies. Really good. Really fast. The TV was too loud and the staff was very accommodating on turning it down for us

We moved into Avalon and having this gem right by us has been amazing. Our family stays at the holiday inn and we get breakfast together all within walking distance. The food is always fresh and really good! The staff is always friendly and welcoming with smiles. At night the bar is fun you can grab a drink and relax here. Don’t miss this spot! The burgers and eggs are the best. To go is quick and easy.

The fireplace doesn't work but the bartender is great and makes up for it. The food is decent and served pretty quickly. I had the special for the week and it was not bad but it was only fish and chips. My friend had a steak and it looked good with a nice cook on it.

Located inside the Holiday Inn. This is a good choice if you're not looking for anything specific. Pros: Service was fast and friendly. Full bar. We ordered salads and they were large, with plenty of toppings and looking very fresh. The grilled chicken was really tender and well-marinated. Good value, as most entrees were about $12 before tax and tip, and a large glass of wine was $8. Cons: Limited menu with a few apps, 5 sandwiches, 5 salads. Wine list just OK with only 2 reds.
